On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, a seminar was organized for our department's students, led by Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Esma Polat Balkan. The session covered topics such as "From Traditional Recording to Digital Analysis: A CPA Office's Diary" and "The Future of the Accounting Profession: E-Transformation and Artificial Intelligence." Academics and students showed great interest in the event.

Sharing her field experiences to illustrate this era—where regulations blend with technology and digitalization opens new doors for the sector—Balkan highlighted three key topics in her presentation:

•                Technology in the Shadow of Regulation: How to strike a balance between compliance and speed,

•                Digitalizing Accounting: Opportunities encountered in the sector and challenges to be overcome,

•                New Roles and Skills: The qualifications required for the accountants of the future.

The seminar emphasized that, with advancing technology, the accounting profession is no longer limited to mere data entry; instead, "analyst" roles—equipped with competencies in artificial intelligence and digital analysis—are coming to the forefront. The event concluded after a Q&A session and the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Ms. Balkan by the department head in recognition of her valuable insights.
